Expanding patient access with new clinic locations

Northern suburbanites gain more convenient access to our specialists

Johns Creek & North Atlanta
Today, we have two new locations in the northern sector. EEC recently moved into the Johns Creek area with a comprehensive presence within the Emory Johns Creek Hospital ambulatory area. We also have a new practice location at Emory St. Joseph’s medical office tower, moving from the Emory Clinic Perimeter location. This has been a strategic move to join our colleagues in other subspecialties at the Emory St. Joseph’s campus.

“Our new location on the north side of Atlanta, near Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital, is a convenient location for many of our patients that will replace our Perimeter location,” says Eye Center Director Timothy W. Olsen. “This location will enable our program to grow and expand primary and subspecialty care to the community.”

We are very excited about the new Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), in the Dunwoody area of north Atlanta, that will evolve to become our cataract surgery center of excellence in a convenient easy-in, easy-out location. A new femtosecond laser adds a new dimension to the state-of-the-art cataract center of excellence. The equipment includes the newest and most innovative cataract phacoemulsification and intraocular lens-related technologies,. The technology combined with a very convenient location make our center even easier than ever for our patients to have the very best in current cataract surgery options performed by an Emory doctor.

“The Dunwoody ASC has been designed from the ground up to be a center of excellence for refractive cataract and other lens-based ophthalmic procedures,” says Brad Randleman (res. ’99-02; cornea fellow ’04). “With the addition of the femtosecond laser for cataract, we now have all resources to be able to offer all of our cataract patients customized, state-of-the-art care to maximize both safety and outcomes.”

Emory University Hospital Midtown
At our growing Emory University Hospital Midtown location, the Eye Center moved this year to the 18th floor of the Medical Office Tower—with a larger and newly renovated space. The sleek, new look has been a hit with faculty and staff alike. Currently, there are services in comprehensive, glaucoma, oculoplastics, pediatrics and neuro-ophthalmology. More services will be added in the future.

Emory Aesthetic Center at Paces
With a new Emory Clinic in Buckhead, EEC joined the Emory Aesthetic Center at Paces several months ago. Oculoplastics providers provide cosmetic surgery and facial treatments including chemical peels and lasers. The location is optimal for those requiring cosmetic services in the Atlanta area.

Emory Eye Center and a large clinical outreach
We serve the southeastern area of Atlanta in the LaGrange location at the Emory Clark-Holder Clinic. Retina specialist Jiong Yan (res. ’99-02) provides a weekly clinic, enabling retina patients who are local to LaGrange to have care close to home.

As always, the Eye Center continues to support our colleagues in the community through retina services in order to optimize care locally to their patients. Current locations include practices in Athens, Gainesville, Griffin and Lawrenceville.
