As a member of the Oculoplastic and Reconstructive service at Emory Eye Center, Dr. Hayek’s clinical focus is multifaceted. He takes care of orbital problems including tumors around the eye and fractures that affect the protective bony walls. He handles tearing problems that involve obstruction, infection or other issues of the tear drain system. He also addresses “droopy” or malpositioned eyelids and eyebrows with in-office or ambulatory surgical procedures.
He enjoys seeing patients for both reconstructive and cosmetic concerns. Cosmetic services include Botox®, facial fillers and peels, upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty, as well as endoscopic forehead lifts.
Dr. Hayek’s research interests include eyelid and orbital tumors, as well as various implants suitable for long-term eyelid reconstruction.
He is a part of an ophthalmic oncology team at the Emory Eye Center that investigates and treats tumors in and around the eye. He is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society.
