I have been the Residency Program Director of Ophthalmology since 1999 and have a strong interest in teaching and mentoring both residents and medical students, and in Graduate Medical Education. I have a special interest in the surgical education of residents, including hands-on surgical techniques in the operating room and resident cataract surgery outcomes. Additionally, I have been elected to the Program Directors Council of the Association of the University Professors of Ophthalmology and enjoy participating in Resident and Program Director issues at a national level. My clinical interests include all of adult comprehensive ophthalmology, particularly diabetic retinopathy and cataract surgery.
