One of Emory Eye Center’s surgical retina fellows, Duncan Berry, MD, and first-year ophthalmology resident Rebecca Neustein, MD, also will be at the conference, presenting posters summarizing research they’ve been involved with. Two 2018 graduates of Emory Eye Center’s fellowship program also will be involved with poster presentations.

“The Emory Eye Center is heavily involved with the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Annual Meeting, one of the largest ophthalmology meetings in the world,” says Allen Beck, MD, interim chair of ophthalmology and interim director of Emory Eye Center.

“We start at the top with Dr. Maria Aaron, Secretary of the Annual Meeting and Board of Trustee member, who is responsible for organizing this enormous event. Many of our faculty are responsible for lectures, courses, and wet labs that allow our expertise to be spread to attending ophthalmologists and technical staff.

Some of our residents and fellows also pitch in with scientific presentations. I am proud to be a part of EEC and glad that we are able to contribute to continuing education at the AAO annual meeting.”
