Emory Eye Center opens new clinic at Emory Johns Creek Hospital

(ATLANTA) Emory Eye Center has opened a new clinic in the Johns Creek/Cumming area. Comprehensive ophthalmologist Rabeea Janjua, MD, and optometrist Petra Jo, OD, will see patients at the Emory Johns Creek Physician’s Plaza, Suite 115, at 6335 Hospital Parkway, Johns Creek, GA 30097.

Janjua joined the Emory Eye Center in November, relocating from Maryland. She provides educational efforts at Grady Memorial Hospital as well as her clinics at Emory Johns Creek.

Emory Johns Creek logoJanjua graduated from George Washington University magna cum laude and received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore where she was presented the George Frick Award for Excellence in Ophthalmology. She interned at the University of Maryland and completed her ophthalmology residency there as well, serving as co-chief resident.

Dr. Janjua’s clinical interests include comprehensive eye care, cataract surgery, glaucoma lasers, the ophthalmic manifestation of systemic disease (diabetes, dry eye syndrome, uveitis) and medical retina care. Her research interests include tele-ophthalmology and the development of sustainable eye health programs in underserved areas.

She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons, the Islamic Medical Association of North America and the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology.

Optometrist Petra Jo has served at Emory Eye Center for the past year within the Vision and Optical Services section of Comprehensive Ophthalmology. She earned her doctor of optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University and completed her residency at the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center in South Carolina.

Dr. Jo is a member of the American Academy of Optometry; South Carolina Optometric Physician Association; American Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. Her areas of clinical interest are primary eye care, comprehensive eye care and ocular disease.
