Clinical Eye Pathology Research

This is a true translational science (bench to bedside) service where what is learned in the L. F. Montgomery Laboratory is utilized to develop clinical trials. The main themes of this service are ocular oncology and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Trials are being designed that will enhance the diagnosis and treatment of eye cancers and AMD. The most common forms of eye cancer are retinoblastoma in children and melanoma in adults.

Ocular oncology clinical trials are done in conjunction with the ocular oncology service and AMD clinical trials are done in conjunction with the retina service.
